E-Levy Saga: It's Obvious, We Can’t Trust Alban Bagbin – John Boadu

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is beginning to accept that passing of government bills will be a hectic one for the Nana Addo-led government as far as Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin remains the Speaker of Parliament.

The party has on numerous occasions questioned the speaker’s posture in the august house – mainly in the pending passage of the E-levy bill which recently turned the parliament house into a ‘free-to-all’ boxing arena.

First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei-Owusu has openly noted that the NPP must not depend on Mr Albin for any favour.

Interestingly, his party Chief Scribe seems to be of a similar mindset as he backed Joseph Osei-Owusu’s comment – maintaining that the Nana Addo-led government will have a tougher time in passing bills.

Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, John Boadu believes Speaker Alban Bagbin’s posture in recent times is just to frustrate the government and delay national developments.

His utterances tells us [NPP] that we can’t rely on him for anything. We have our destiny in our hands. We must have our numbers to take own decisions,” he told host Mac Jerry Osei Agyeman.
