Sekondi-Takoradi MCE Granted ยข100k Bail With 3 Sureties . . . Judge Warns Him, Other Appointees

The Takoradi Habour Circuit Court A has granted the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Abdul Mumin Issah a self-recognizance bail of a GHS100,000 bail with 3 sureties after pleading not guilty to all three counts of road traffic offenses.

The MCE was arrested and charged with: Assault of a public officer, Offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace and disturbing the peace in a public place contrary to Sections 205, 207 and 298, respectively, of the Criminal and Other Offences Act of 1960, Act 29.

The MCE who appeared in court today pleaded not guilty to all three counts of road traffic offenses.

His lawyer, Samuel Kofi Agbota pleaded with the court to grant his client bail since all the offenses are bailable.

Presiding over the court, his Worship, Michael Kwadwo Ampadu warned the MCE and other appointees who think they are above the law; adding they should stop interfering with the work of the security service.

Meanwhile, the case has been adjourned to March 17, 2022.
