Government Approves Black Stars Technical Team For World Cup Playoffs

Alhaji Karim Grunsah, a member of the newly constituted Black Stars management committee has confirmed in an interview that government has approved the Black Stars technical team for the 2022 World Cup playoff.

The Ghana Football Association has appointed Dortmund assistant coach Otto Addo, together with Mas Ud-Didi Dramani, Aston Villa U-23 coach George Boateng to lead the team for the World Cup playoff against Nigeria next month subject to approval by government.

Former Brighton boss Chris Hughton tipped to become the next Black Stars coach was also given an advisory role in the technical team.

Following the announcement of the newly constituted technical team of the Black Stars three weeks ago by the Ghana FA, an official communication is yet to be announced on if the Ghana government supports the appointment.

The King Faisal president, in an interview confirmed the Ghana FA and the Sports Ministry have been in touch and the appointment has been formalized.

“According to the Ghana FA president, Kurt Okraku the Ministry has approved the appointment,” Grunsah told Happy FM.

The Veteran football administrator pleaded with Ghanaians to support the team ahead of the World Cup playoffs.

Ghana will host Nigeria at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on March 25 in the first leg before traveling to Abuja for the second leg on March.

The newly constituted technical team will be in charge for only the two-legged encounter against Nigeria. 29.
