The Local Organizing Committee(LOC), on Tuesday, 26th April, has launched the African Games Salah Football Competition at the Accra Sports Staduim- Media Center.

LOC Executive Chairman, Kwaku Ofosu-Asare said that there are eight communities namely; Fadama, Madina, Shukura, Nima, New town, Mamobi, Cow lane and Tudu participating in this competition.

The competition will commence on Saturday, 14th May and end on 15th May at the Madina astro turf.

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the Minister for Youth and Sports will be the Special Guests of Honour as well as the presence of some Members of Parliament, U-23 and U-20 coaches.

The Winner will receive a trophy and an amount of Ghc 10,000.

First runner-up will receive Ghc 8,000, second runner-up will get Ghc 6,000 and third runner-up will take home Ghc 4,000.

There will be appearance fee for the players.

Mr Kwaku Ofusu-Asare added that Goil has sponsored with Ghc 100,000 coupon, African World Airlines has also sponsored with a cash of Ghc 100,000.

Point Five Ventures has provided the trophy for the tournament and Adidas has also provided jerseys to these eight teams.
