"Guerrilla Tactics Erode The Gains Of International Arbitration" - Diana Asonaba Dapaah

Ms. Diana Asonaba Dapaah, Deputy Attorney-General & Deputy Minister for Justice attended and spoke at the 6th ICC Africa Conference on International Arbitration, held in Lagos, Nigeria from 1st to 3rd June 2022.

Speaking on the topic Guerrilla Tactics in Arbitration: Keeping Proceedings on Track. Amongst others, Ms. Dapaah highlighted the negative effects of such Guerrilla tactics on Arbitral proceedings.

According to Ms. Diana Asonaba Dapaah, Guerrilla tactics in arbitration tend to make a mockery of the touted advantages of arbitration.

She further highlighted that these tactics erode the gains of International Arbitration.

As part of her presentation, she proposed major reforms in the International arbitration space intended to make arbitration more effective and worthwhile, including an efficacious disciplinary regime that regulates professionals who act as arbitration counsel and arbitrators.

The 6th ICC Africa Conference on International Arbitration on the theme "African Arbitration: Consolidation and Transformation" took place in Lagos, Nigeria on the 1st - 3rd, of June 2022.
