After Chopping Of Ears...AMA Boys Stab Trader

After chopping off the ears of a trader weeks ago, the Accra Metropolitan Assembly Taskforce has attacked another trader at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, stabbing him in the head. The victim, Benjamin Ampadu-Boateng, 22, a soft drinks seller, was hit with a pavement block in the head when the taskforce descended on some hawkers to seize their goods, after the hawkers refused to pay an unspecified toll only known to the assembly. The incident took place Monday morning around 9am. Narrating the incident to Daily Guide, the father of the victim, Peter Ampadu-Boateng, noted that the taskforce members, numbering about 50, attacked some hawkers selling opposite the Vodafone office. They were holding clubs, sticks and stones, beating the hawkers mercilessly, while some seized their wares into a waiting van. He averred that in the process, one of the taskforce men picked a pavement block and aimed it at a hawker but unfortunately, the stone went to the direction of the victim who was sitting innocently in his glass shop. The father said immediately the stone hit his sons head, he fell unconscious and so he was rushed to a nearby clinic for medical attention. He stated that a report was then lodged with the Nima Police Station. The Nima district crime officer, DSP Kingsley Amankwah who confirmed the story, said the matter was still under investigation.
