As a matter of fact, one needs to keep abreast with his or her health status to seek appropriate medical care or attention.

In view of this, the PRO for Ministry of Education, Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng with great concern, on the 16th to 18th of December, organized a free health screening program for its constituents in the Asante Akim North Municipality.

The exercise included free health screening in sickle cell, malaria, hepatitis B, and other general health conditions.

The exercise saw residents trooping to the health center with a massive recorded attendance of over 2000 participants.

The beneficiaries of this exercise and other opinion leaders appealed for more of such programmes to help them improve on their health.

According to Kwasi Kwarteng,

"With over 70 health-professional strength, we organized the December to Remember Health Outreach in the Asante Akyem Municipal (Domeabra) over the weekend.

Activities included free health screening in sickle cell,malaria , Hepatitis B & other general conditions. We further undertook sickle cell related research, sickle cell educational sessions & community engagements, leadership training for the youth, genetic counseling & medical consultations.

It is important to note that free medication and transportation were also provided.

We wish once again express our profound gratitude to the Traditional Leadership (Nananom), Political leadership, Hardworking members of the District Assembly, the Clergy most particularly the Presbyterian Minister, ISCC, our partners, the media, the People of Domeabra & our selfless young men & women who volunteered to make this a success.
