Ayeh-Paye Denies Islamophobic Comments Against Bawumia

A former Member of Parliament(MP) for Ayensuano constituency in the Eastern Region, Samuel Ayeh-Paye has denied strongly ever making Islamophobic comments against Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

The now Eastern Regional Campaign Coordinator for Alan Kyerematen in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show, 'Ghana Montie' maintained his innocence.

“I did not speak against anyone. I only compared CDD statistics on votes on religious and tribal lines,” he noted.

In a widely circulated screenshot, the former NPP lawmaker allegedly said that he [Bawumia] is a Muslim, therefore delegates shouldn’t vote for him.

Mr Ayeh-Paye, however, apologised to all for the mishap but said "I never said anything against anyone".
