Stop Selling Raw Cocoa Beans To Foreigners - Dr George Domfe Tells Gov’t

Research fellow at the Centre for Social Policy Studies, University of Ghana, Dr George Domfe says the idea of Ghana selling raw cocoa beans to foreign countries is ‘unreasonable’.

According to him, it’s time the government gets “serious” with the production of cocoa rather than exporting it to other countries.

“Ghana is not being innovative with the production of cocoa; it can be the country's breakthrough,” he said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show, 'Ghana Montie'.

Adding that, “the quality of Ghana cocoa is higher than most countries so chocolate manufactures always rush to Ghana for their raw material.”

Dr George Domfe further said if Ghana was serious about cocoa, “our economy will not be where it is now.”
