Amantin: Paramount Chief Cut-Sod For The Construction Of Six Unit Classroom Block At Amantin Senior High School

Amantin Traditional Council of the Bono East region led by the Paramount Chief, Osabarima Bonsie Apau Bonsu II, has cut the sod for construction of six-unit classroom block for the Amantin Senior High school as part of its efforts to provide quality education infrastructure to the school.

The school’s plight came to the Chiefs attention when school management formally wrote to the Traditional Council for support to ease congestion; hence the immediate measures taken to construct a new six-unit classroom block for the school.

The six-unit school block, when completed, will accommodate about 600 students with a staff common room, a store, an office and washrooms.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Paramount Chief of Amantin Traditional Area, Osabarima Bonsie Apau Bonsu II, said “Education is very important in today’s society, and every child deserves the same chance as any other child anywhere in this country. That is why investing in education is one priority.

We believe education is an empowerment tool and the best investment we can make in the lives of our children and the future of our country, hence this project. We have no doubt that when completed this infrastructure will contribute to shaping the lives and futures of our children in Amantin”.

He Appealed to Government to also come into the aid of the school by providing them with vehicles.

In his remarks the Headmaster of Amantin SHS, Mr. Godfrey Djie, thanked the Traditional Council for coming to the school’s aid to improve the quality of education, and called on other corporate bodies to emulate this gesture and on residents to support the project.
