Why Now? - Nana Akomea Reacts To Prof Frimpong Boateng's 'Galamsey@Jubilee House' Allegation

Why now? The Chief Executive Officer of the Intercity State Transport Corporation (STC), Nana Akomea has asked Prof Frimpong Boateng.

The former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) Prof Kwabena Frimpong Boateng has accused some top government officials of being engaged in illegal mining, popularly known as ‘galamsey’.

The renowned professor who served under President Akufo-Addo during his first term insisted that the canker is rooted deep at the seat of government, Jubilee House.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has tasked the Police to investigate the former Minister's allegations.

However, Nana Akomea wonders why Prof Frimpong Boateng didn't bring this out early for it to be investigated.

"These are grave allegations . . . but I'm pained over the fact that he waited for two to three years before breaking his silence. But it's good he's raised such issues. It's also good the President has asked for it to be investigated," he indicated.
