Go Beyond 'Ataya' Drink & Train Your Agents - Mireku Duker Tells Mahama

George Mireku Duker, a deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources has reacted to former President John Mahama's 'Ataya' comment.

Mr Mahama addressing NDC members and sympathizers at Tafo in Kumasi during his recent tour of the Ashanti Region said the party's agents at the various polling stations will be given coffee and 'ataya'; a locally brewed tea known to keep its users awake and energized.

“On December 7, 2024, we shall serve our agents tea, coffee and ‘Ataya’ at the polling stations in order to enable them stay awake and monitor the election results to help prevent rigging...“We shall definitely serve our agents with ‘Ataya’ and hopefully by 12 midnight on December 7, 2024, we should get all our results from all over Ghana from our polling agents so we could collate them,” John Mahama stated.

Mireku Duker speaking to this during a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo' asked the former President to concentrate on training his agents instead of providing them 'Ataya'

"It's good he intends to give the agents Ataya...but he should go beyond the Ataya principle and focus on how to train his agents," he told Mahama.
