The National Service Scheme is set to partner with Longpin High Tech one of the leading global agricultural players in the field of grain production and agribusiness.
The collaboration between the Ghana National Service and Longpin High Tech is part of the long term Deployment for Employment policy direction of the Ghana National Service Scheme and aims to support a key goal of the Scheme to train and equip Ghanaian graduates in the field of Agriculture and Agribusiness as well as boost the food production in the country.
The Ghana National Service Scheme will collaborate with Longpin High Tech, a Chinese company with production and research centers located in Brazil and leading player in grain production and vegetable seed market, in the areas of best farming management practices, improved seedlings on the new Agro Industrial Village Project in Kumawu, and exchange programs for Ghanaian graduates deployed to the Agricultural sector.
The Deputy Executive Director(Operations) of the Scheme, Mr. Kwaku Ohene Djan, remarked, during an official visit with Longpin to the Agro Industrial Village Project, the collaboration to be the beginning of the ambitious policy of the Scheme to reduce if not eradicate unemployment among Ghanaian graduates
Mr. Kwaku Ohene Djan highlighted how the partnership with Longpin High-Tech is going to be a breakthrough for Ghana to become a global player in Agriculture in the near future.
He added that the Scheme will ensure this collaboration will have immense impact on Ghanaian graduates to be deployed to the Agro Industrial Village and other agricultural projects of the Scheme.
He called on other private sector bodies and organisations to support the Scheme in achieving its objectives to tackle unemployment among Ghanaian graduates.
