NPP Is a 'Submarine Organization' . . . Very Smart - Allotey Praises Party on Primaries Schedule

Bernard Allotey Jacobs has applauded the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for setting a date for their Presidential and parliamentary elections.

The party has set November 4, 2023 as the date for its Presidential primaries to select a flagbearer for the general elections in 2024 and their parliamentary primaries will be held in February 2024.

The nomination period for the presidential primaries will begin on May 26 and end on June 24, 2023.

However, if more than five candidates file to run in the presidential primaries, the party will go for a Special Congress on August 26.

The former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Allotey Jacobs, reacting to the NPP decision, noted that the party's choice of date for their primaries is a smart and strategic move.

To him, this will help the party to resolve any conflicts that may arise before they go into the general elections next year.

"Of late, I have been observing the work that their party is doing; very quiet. It is a submarine organization. I wish them well . . . I think that they are smart and that's very strategic. A good organizational strategy that will help their party and prevent infighting," he said while making his submissions on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show.
