Irresponsible! Is Gyakye Quayson's Problems Part of Your Constituency Challenges? - NDC MPs Fired

Maurice Ampaw has described as irresponsible the Minority caucus' decision to boycott Parliamentary proceedings in support of their colleagues in court.

The NDC MPs have decided to boycott Parliamentary proceedings to support their colleagues for Ajumako/Enyan/Essiam and Assin North, Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson and James Gyakye Quayson, respectively, in court.

According to them, the same gesture would be extended to the member for Asutifi South, Alhaji Collins Dauda, who is also standing criminal trial.

In view of this, on Thursday morning, the NDC MPs boycotted a Parliamentary session to accompany and solidarize with two members from their caucus who were in court for criminal trial proceedings.

However, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has questioned if going to court will "solve challenges being faced by their respective constituents".

"It shows how irresponsible some of our MPs have reduced Parliament to. You were voted to go to Parliament and conduct your work as MPs. There are a lot of bills to be passed . . . if you're not irresponsible will you leave your work and say you're going to support your colleague in court? Is it part of your parliamentary duties? Is Gyakye Quayson's problems part of the challenges in your constituency? It is the highest irresponsible behaviour of every MP," he said in an interview on Neat FM's 'Me Man Nti' programme.
