Cut The 'Waste' In The System - Kwabena Agyepong To Prez Akufo-Addo

Former NPP General Secretary and presidential hopeful, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has advised the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government to cut down what he termed as "waste in the system".

The aspirant, who polled 6 votes in the just-ended NPP Special Delegates Congress, urged the government to take decisions that benefit Ghanaians.

Kwabena Agyepong failed to be elected into the top five candidates to compete in the NPP main presidential elections on November 4.

Acknowledging his defeat during an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo", Mr. Agyepong admonished the government to "live within our means...We've got to look at some of these things. Cut the waste in the system; reduce the government size like I believe we should for a country of 31 milion people and then we can continue to jaw-jaw".

He told the host that, despite he losing out in the election, he "will continue to be an advocate for what is right for Ghana" and in playing his role as a social activist, he pleaded with the government not to overspend.

He also advised the citizenry to be each other's keeper, saying "let's be relaxed. Let's think about our neighbour and help ourselves" in building the nation.
