Kwesi Pratt and Nana Akomea Face off Over Alleged Tribal Comment by Bawumia . . . Kwami Sefa Kayi Caught in the Middle

The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr on Tuesday, 3rd October, 2023 edition of Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', accused Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of engaging in Religious, tribal politics.

Kwesi Pratt said during an event at the residence of the Chief Imam, the Vice President allegedly told former President John Mahama that he would need to convert to Islam in order to secure Muslim votes.

"Who among us hasn't heard a video where Bawumia is heard saying if Mahama wants Muslims to vote for him, he should convert to Islam? He said if Mahama wants to identify with Muslims, he should convert. Why should you say 'it's time for Northerners in your campaign? Is this not tribal ethnic politics? Our campaign should be void of religious tribal politics but that is what is happening...and Bawumia is a beneficiary of this dirty campaign," he fired.

This issue went back and forth between him and Nana Akomea as the latter insisted Bawumia had never engaged in tribal politics.

"He's a gentleman and he chooses his words carefully...he's not engaged in any tribal campaign," he retorted.

Meanwhile, Nana Akomea believes Kwesi Pratt has always maintained a negative posture against Dr Bawumia.

"It's so clear that when it comes to Bawumia, Kwesi Pratt will strain every nerve to be negative but it won't wash . . . do you know what Mahama has also been saying? You did that before the super delegates but it didn't work; Bawumia won emphatically. I am telling you that no matter your negativity, Bawumia will be endorsed overwhelmingly by the NPP delegates . . . straining every nerve but it won't work," he fired.

Kwami Sefa Kayi who was hosting the programme received some 'stray bullet' as Kwesi Pratt accused him of siding with Bawumia
