The Akonnor family is no stranger to the limelight, thanks to the career of former Ghana Black Stars coach C.K. Akonnor. But now, a new star is emerging from this celebrated family, and she's captivating audiences in a completely different way.

Natashia Akonnor, with the stage name Schia (Shy-ya), is taking centre stage in the music world. She is the second child of C.K. Akonnor to venture into music after her brother KadMIELLI's foray in 2021.

Before she started sharing her freestyles and musical talents on social media, Naa Quekyi first caught the attention of netizens with a heartfelt gesture. Schia shared photos of herself and her father on Father's Day, showcasing their strong bond. Little did her fans know that behind those family photos lay a hidden gem of musical talent to be unveiled.

With the release of her debut single, "La Vida Loca," Schia is making waves in the music industry with a sound as unique as her family legacy. Her music blends hip-hop and Caribbean-influenced beats, creating a genre-defying style that's all her own. Schia's artistry shines through her lyrics and melodies, which draw inspiration from well-known artists like Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé.

While Schia may carry the Akonnor name, she's proving she's a force to reckon with in her own right. Her debut single is a testament to her talent, creativity, and determination. On her decision to make music, Schia said, "I felt the African market lacked representation of female rap. I have always wanted to do music but was not confident in my writing. In 2022, I decided to do a few freestyles and then gained the confidence to make my sound."
