UTV Is ‘Family’ And I’ll Never Rubbish It's United Showbiz – NPP’s Owusu Bempah

Deputy Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ernest Owusu-Bempah says he will never discredit any program on Ghana’s most-watched private station, United Television (UTV) after describing the station as “family” to him.

According to him, news circulating that he tagged the station’s popular programme, "United Showbiz," as a "useless show” is “untrue”.

“I have never said anywhere that United Showbiz is a useless show. I will never say that. I have a good relationship with the station and its management and I do respect that.” Owusu Bempah told Peacefmonline.com in an interview.

According to him, he only expressed his dissatisfaction with how some panellists constantly ‘attack’ the NPP.

To him, some panellists on the show lacked purpose and used the platform to criticize the government, thereby tarnishing its image.

It may recalled that NPP has called out the management of UTV to reform their programme to ensure fairness in the submissions of panelists if political issues are discussed

The leadership noted that submissions by panellists on the show tend to spite and lambast the government most of the time.
