Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh Wins Minister Of The Year At Ghana Ministers Of State Excellence Honours

Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has been adjudged as the Best Performing Minister by the Ghana Ministers of State Excellence Honours for the year 2023.

Dr. Prempeh was awarded the Minister of the Year award for his exceptional performance as Energy Minister since taking office in March 2021 during a colourful ceremony on Friday, December 22, 2023.

After receiving the honour, the Manhyia Constituency Member of Parliament thanked God for giving him the courage and strength to carry out his duty as a minister. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Energy staff for their support.

"It is once again, a testament that, our modest contributions to nation building are being followed closely.

"For me, It is a challenge and an encouragement to continue to give off my best as a public official, in the best of my ability to the people of Ghana.

"Whilst, I am eternally grateful to His Excellency the President, for the opportunity to serve, I pay glowing tribute to the dynamic team I work with. They are the bulwarks behind the success story.

"Overall, I am grateful to the almighty God, for his protection, sustenance and for granting us the resilience and fortitude.

"This honour, is once again, deeply appreciated!”, Dr. Opoku wrote.

The Ghana Ministers of State Excellence Honours held at the Holiday Inn in Accra honoured other well-deserving Ministers and a Member of Parliament for their sterling performances in the course of their duties for Mother Ghana.

Hon. Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, the former Minister of Trade and Industry and currently the leader of the Movement for Change, achieved an extensive and distinguished record while in office as Minister of State.

The Ghana Ministers of State Excellence Honours also honoured Hon. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, who doubles as the Minister of Health and Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central Constituency.

Hon. George Mireku Duker, the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem and also the Deputy Minister of Lands and Forestry, was honoured for his outstanding performance while carrying out his responsibilities for the country.

For championing and sponsoring a bill in Ghana’s Parliament to promote proper human sexual rights and Ghanaian family values, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency, received an honorary.

Powered by BigEvents Ghana and the Africa Center for Excellence, the event was a sight to behold, as all deserving honorees greatly distinguished themselves in their spheres of work.

Heralding the main honorary show was the Red Carpet show hosted by Gospel Minstrel Jayana, who ushered guests into the main auditorium and asked about their expectations for the night event and also their resolutions for the year.

The Ghana Ministers of State Excellence Honours was hosted by Peace Fm’s Presenter Nana Yaw Kesse.
