China has executed a man who bludgeoned his mother to death with a dumbbell after putting to death a couple who killed two toddlers by hurling them from a 15th floor balcony.
Wu Xieyu, 30, a former Peking university student, repeatedly struck his mother Xie Tianqin with a dumbbell before wrapping her body in layers of plastic film and sealing her in her room in 2015.
He reportedly put air purifiers in the room to absorb the smell and successfully kept the body hidden for 218 days.
