I Won't Ask For Honeymoon - Bawumia Shades Mahama

Dr.  Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic, has taken a swipe at the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, over the latter's "honeymoon" statement.

Ex-President John Dramani Mahama, addressing a gathering at a 'Campus Connect' event in Hohoe in the Volta Region, requested to go on a honeymoon if elected President in the December 7 elections.

He explained his reason for the honeymoon saying it is to give him a grace period to put the economy in order because, to him, the New Patriotic Party administration under the leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo has collapsed it.

“And you will realize the harm that the NPP administration has done to Ghana’s economy. This country is broke, and so we will beg you that when we come into office give us a bit of a honeymoon, let’s put things in place so that we bring the economy back onto its feet", he said.

Delivering a speech today, February 7, on his vision for Ghana, the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia noted that he does not need time to cool off but rather ready to work.

According to him, he is an active person with transformative ideas to push the country forward, hence appealing to Ghanaians to give him the opportunity to serve them.

"I will not ask for a honeymoon to cool off and think about what to do. I am prepared and ready to work if you give me the opportunity. You know what I stand for. You know my vision; my vision about your mission. I believe in the ingenuity of the Ghanaian", Dr. Bawumia shaded Mahama.
