The AFCON finals which have seen the Elephants of Ivory Coast lift the trophy under the guidance of their Assistant Coach, sum up the story Dr. Bawumia told Ghanaians. That, a driver’s mate, when given the opportunity, may do much better than the driver, based on his own vision.
As we have all witnessed this today (11th February, 2024), the Assistant Coach of the Ivory Coast National Team (in this case, the driver’s mate) has demonstrated that while sitting on the bench as Assistant Coach, he had his own vision.
And when the substantive coach (in this case, the driver) failed to deliver and got sacked, he (the driver’s mate) was given the opportunity, and he took charge of the Ivory Coast National Team, against all odds, redeemed the team and delivered the AFCON trophy. Ivory Coast didn’t go for a former Coach. They gave the mate a chance.
Everybody deserves an opportunity in life. President John Mahama, President Akufo Addo have all both been given opportunities to govern this country as Presidents. Why not Dr. Bawumia, the driver’s mate, who has demonstrated that he has his own vision for Ghana? 2024 is the year of the Elephants, and the elephant 🐘 is the winning symbol.
