Coach Bashir Hayford Pitches For National Assignment

Bashir Hayford has thrown down the gauntlet that he can succeed as a national team coach for any of the junior sides. Indigenous Ghanaian coaches came under massive criticisms in the past few months following their failures to successfully handle junior national teams. The home-based national team and the Under-23 team failed in their respective assignments this year. The future of ex-international Frimpong Manso continue to be speculated in the local media after the Under-17 team missed qualification to the African Championships which was held in January. Hayford, a former Under-17 team coach, remains confident of getting the results. There are still good coaches around and I think weve done it before and I can do it if Im given the chance, Hayford said. I have coached the Under-17 before and we managed to put a solid team together and so why cant I do it all over again. He led the Medeama Sporting Club to finish third in the just ended Ghana Premier League.
