Getafe Insist Derek Boateng Will Be Sold To Dnipro

Spanish side Getafe insist they have reached a deal to sell Derek Boateng to Dnipro despite the Ghanaian players reluctance. The Spanish side are expected to sign the deal with Dnirpo with last minute talks in place to convince Boateng to agree to the move. The 28-year-old has been evasive over the bumper deal to Ukraine even though a transfer fee of US$8.5m has been agreed. It has now emerged that there are some English clubs who are keen on signing the midfielder which has led to his reluctance. English side West Brom entered the race to sign the midfielder on Thursday but it is unclear if they are keen on matching the offer tabled by Dnipro. Depsite the interest from Stoke City and other English clubs, Getafe coach Toni Munoz says they expect Boateng to sign for Dnipro. In principle the deal to Dnipro is done, Toni Munoz, manager of Getafe said. Hopefully in the next few days, not more than two days, we hear something good for the club and for the player (Boateng). Boateng has a contract with Getafe until 2013 and a buyout clause of 15 million euros. West Brom are not the only side to be planning a move for Boateng as both Sunderland and Stoke are considering bids. Aston Villa were also previously interested, but given their current managerial situation, it is unclear if they would be tempted into a move.
