FERNANDO TORRES last night lifted the lid on his Chelsea horror show and admitted: 'I prefer to forget it.' But the �50million former Liverpool star also insisted that his partnership with Didier Drogba will soon be a big hit. Torres, 27, came under fire after joining Chelsea in January for a record transfer fee between British clubs. The Spaniard scored just ONE goal in 18 outings and was widely blamed for the Blues' failed bid to retain the Premier League title. Fellow striker Salomon Kalou has broken ranks to insist that owner Roman Abramovich should not have brought Torres into the team at that stage of the season. Kalou claimed the mega-expensive new boy was more interested in whether he was picked rather than making sure the team was winning. And Torres himself agreed it had been a nightmare, scoring only 12 goals in all, nine for Liverpool, one for Chelsea and two for Spain. He said: "For me the past season was the worst since I arrived in England. The injury I sustained at the end the World Cup damaged my performance and made things more complicated than at any time in my career. "Twelve goals in all in a season is nothing for me. Never during the season did I play to 100 per cent, neither for Liverpool or Chelsea. "So I prefer to forget what happened. But I am not sorry I signed for Chelsea. I am convinced that when the Chelsea machine is at its full rhythm we will be very difficult to beat." Torres will not be pleased to hear Kalou's thinly-veiled attack. The Ivorian said: "Our players were preoccupied with finding out who was in the side and who wasn't. This disrupted our progress. "It is better to build a team gradually than to bring in players who will be put out and sulk. "Our team is used to winning and when we end up losing, things become hard for us. Yes, we won nothing this year but successive seasons do not resemble one another." Torres, too, is convinced it will be better next time around - and that his link with Ivorian hitman Drogba will improve beyond measure. He insisted: "I do not have problems with Drogba. Sincerely, I am very connected with Didier. He is a sensational footballer and our possible rivalry is positive for Chelsea. "I see many goals coming and that will give us significant success. Manchester United are the champions but I insist that we are the main candidates to take their title." Torres, looking back on his four years and 81 goals at Liverpool, added: "I will always remember in my heart the Liverpool fans and the extraordinary moments I enjoyed at Anfield. "But the only thing I desire now are victories with Chelsea."
