The 2004 alumni group of St. Francis Senior High Technical School, situated in the central part of Akim Oda has donated a barbering salon and 450 packs of sanitary pads to their Alma Mater.

According to the group, the barbering salon is an “initiative to provide essential grooming services to the students, particularly focusing on boys’ hygiene and self-care.” Also, they stated that the sharing of the sanitary pads is geared towards supporting “girls who struggle to access sanitary products, ensuring they can focus on their education without disruption.”

The 20th Home Coming Anniversary and fundraising event of the St. Francis Old Students Association (FOSA ’04) took place from September 24th – 29th, 2024, at the school’s premises.

The FOSA 2004 20th Anniversary was a significant milestone aimed at reuniting alumni and celebrating the bond that was formed two (2) decades ago. The event provided an opportunity for the class of 2004 to give back to their alma mater, St. Francis Senior High Technical School, in a meaningful and impactful way.

The theme of the anniversary was “Honoring The Past, Building The Future”, which highlighted the
importance of alumni contributing to the development of the school and the student’s well-being. The theme resonated with the idea that through unity and service, FOSA 2004 could support the future of the school and inspire current students.

As part of the celebrations, FOSA 2004 donated a barbering salon to the school. This initiative was spearheaded by the alumni group to provide essential grooming services to the students, particularly focusing on boys’ hygiene and self-care.

The group explained that “The barbering salon is not only a practical resource for the students but also a symbol of FOSA 2004’s continued commitment to supporting the welfare of the school community.”

“The donation signifies FOSA 2004’s dedication to ensuring the well-being of current and future students while fostering a culture of giving back. Present at this function were the management and the staff of St. Francis SHT School, former headmasters Mr. John Kwame Bempong, Mr. Dominic Acquah including distinguished teachers who also taught the group 20 years back.”

The Old Saints led by their President Mr. Victor Israel Kwofie and his two (2) Vice Presidents in collaboration with the Lady Ann Foundation made a donation of over 450 packs of sanitary pads for needy female students. This generous contribution is intended to support girls who struggle to access sanitary products, ensuring they can focus on their education without disruption.

The Lady Ann Foundation’s partnership in this initiative reflects the broader goal of the anniversary—uplifting the student body and addressing both practical and personal needs.

Overall, the anniversary celebration and the donations symbolized FOSA 2004’s enduring legacy, showing that their time at St. Francis Senior High Technical School has not only shaped their individual lives but also instilled in them a lasting responsibility to contribute positively to the school and its current students.
