PASTOR Kwame Anim, president and general overseer of Pentecostal Fire Ministry, a burgeoning charismatic church at Denkyemuoso in the Kwadaso District of the Ashanti Region, has taken his life under a bizarre circumstance.
The 46-year-old pastor, who was a native of Apirede in the Eastern Region, was said to have committed the abominable act in one of the uncompleted rooms in his house at 4.00am Tuesday, a few hours after retiring to bed.
This is the second time a man of God is allegedly taking his life, as a Baptist priest had allegedly blown his head off in a similar suicide move.
The Pentecostal Fire Ministry head pastor allegedly took his life without his family, particularly his wife Gladys Anim who shared the same room with him, picking signals of the deceased�s intention.
News about the sudden and unnatural death of Rev. Anim who was said to have led the church in the past five years, sent shockwaves in the area, with residents wondering what could have made him hang himself.
However, questions were raised as to whether the pastor actually committed suicide or was murdered and the body hanged, as his body was awash with blood and blood stains scattered in the room.
Daily Guide gathered at the scene that blood stains could be traced from the pastor�s bedroom to the room where he hanged himself, with broken pieces of louvre blades in the bedroom, raising questions about the alleged suicide.
Diligent observation made in the house also revealed that a piece of cloth used by the pastor to hang himself, was part of the curtains in his bedroom.
According to 41-year-old Gladys Anim, wife of the late pastor, she got to know about the death of her husband after waking up from bed.
Emmanuel Anim Sefah, one of the children of the pastor stressed that his mother found their father hanging when she went out to fetch water for them to take their bath.
Francis Agyei, a younger brother of the deceased, said he had a good conversation with his brother Monday night and even planned visiting him; and that the pastor showed no signs of depression.
Agyei did not rule out foul play in the horrible death of the man of God and appealed to the police to conduct thorough investigations to bring the perpetrators to book.
The Denkyemuoso Odikro, Nana Ofori Sarkodie II, said the last time suicide was committed in the area was about eight years ago.
Considering that suicide was an abominable act, the traditional ruler said special rituals would be performed to pacify the gods and purify the community.
At the time DAILY GUIDE visited the scene, Sofoline Police personnel were in the house conducting investigations. The security officers took away the lifeless body of the pastor, in the company of his 15-year-old son, Emmanuel Anim Sefah. When contacted, the Crime Officer of the South Suntreso District Police Command, ASP Nkwantabisa, promised a thorough investigation into the case to unearth the cause of death.
Rev. Kwame Anim, the eldest of seven children, left behind a wife and four children namely Emmanuel Anim Sefah, 15, Bright Anim, 13, Stephen Anim, 10, and Mummy, 7.
