Worms Can Cause Brain Seizure

A Pharmacist, Mr. Benjamin Laryea has called on members of the public to improve their sanitary conditions in order to prevent worm infestation. Mr. Laryea, an old student of St. Johns Grammar school - Achimota, made the appeal at a seminar organized by the Old Students Association of the school to educate students and the general public about the numerous illnesses including brain seizure, associated with worms and their harmful effects. He disclosed that there are about six types of worms that usually find their way into the human body due to improper sanitary conditions and also poor personal hygiene, explaining that each of these worms affect the body in many harmful ways and exposes the body to various kinds of illness which when left untreated can lead to death. Mr Laryea added that worms feed on the body and blood of the individual and as such the length of these worms increase as long as they are left untreated and could measure up to 10 metres long. He explained that the only way these worms can get into the body is when the human body is exposed to germs and other bacteria mostly through dirt. He advised that all fruits or raw foods including vegetables must be washed thoroughly with salty water. Fingernails must always be kept clean and short to prevent germs from inhabiting in them. He explained that these worms attack the body and find their way through the brain and can also affect memory, cause skin itching and various other diseases and advised that individuals should de-worm at least every three months to help keep the body healthy and worm-free.
