Nyantakyi Cautions Hearts Of Oak

President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwasi Nyantakyi has admonished officials of Hearts of Oak not to shroud the day-to-day running of the club in secrecy. Rather, he tasked them to lay their activities bare before their fans, as they strive to restore the club to its past glory. In his address at the Hearts of Oak Centenary launch in Accra a few days ago, the FA chief described Hearts of Oak as a pillar, which has contributed immensely to the development of Ghana soccer. Its high-time management changed how they run the club because when the two traditional clubs in Ghana- Hearts and Kotoko- are in crises, it affects the entire countrys soccer. It is normal for Hearts or Kotoko to win the league, but it is unusual when the new entrants emerge winners, the bottom line, however is money. It is very difficult to run a football club but if managements are transparent to the fans, it clears doubts in the minds of the supporters and they rally behind the club with their all, he added. The CAF Executive member, however, suggested that the fans back their support with action by contributing financially to the development of the club. Hearts of Oak turns 100 this November and management has rolled out activities to mark the centenary celebration.
