Mistreatment Retaliation Fear Grips Nigeria Ahead Of Ghana Clash

Nigeria are travelling to Ghana in massive fear and panic that they will be maltreated by Ghanaians ahead of Sundays All African Games clash in Kumasi. The Black Meteors were shabbily treated in the first-leg of the game in Benin City after being put in hotel that was described as short-time hotel implying a brothel. The food provided for Ghana in the first leg was woefully inadequate and they were made to train on a park where people were defecating. The decision to move the match to Kumasi because of the repair works of the scoreboard and floodlights in Accra has left the Nigerian dreading in terror. Nigeria newspaper News Day has described the decision to move the match to Kumasi as sending them to the slaughter house of Ghana football, fearing that they will be mistreated. Nigeria U23 goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu, who is clearly in fear after the maltreatment they meted out to Ghana, remains confident about the chances of his side. As far as we are concerned we are unfazed by whatever antics they may choose to play in their back yard, Nigeria U23 goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu said. We are not losing sleep over that; we are just concentrating on our preparation and by Gods grace we will get the result that will be good enough to win the ticket. There is no problem if they choose to move the game from one venue to the other. After all, their team will also play on the same turf and CAF officials will be available to ensure no dirty tricks prevail. What is uppermost in our minds is to prepare the boys technically, psychologically and mentally. And they will be up for it, I can assure you. Despite the concerns, Ghana football officials say they will not mistreat the Nigerians insisting they will beat them on the pitch. These are excuses they are coming up with before the game and Ghanaians dont resort to these tactics before matches. It is in our DNA to treat our guests with respect, Randy Abbey spokesman of the Ghana FA said. We dont want any excuses after the match if victory goes to Ghana. We all know why the match is in Kumasi and its the reason why the Black Stars did not play in Accra the last time. Ghana must overturn a 3-1 deficit to be able to qualify for the All African Games in Maputo later this year.
