Ghanaian Starlet Waris Scores In Europa League Qualifiers

Ghanaian youngster Abdul Majeed Waris was sublime and scored a goal in BK Hackens 5-1 win over Kaerjeng on Thursday night in the Europe League qualifiers. The 19-year-old graduate of the Right to Dream Academy doubled the scoring in the 42nd minute after Ren Makondele had snatched the opener from the spot. Liberia international Dioh Williams made it 3-1 in favour of Hacken after Daniel Cruz had halved the deficit for the side from Luxembourg. Makondele then scored twice to wrap up a 6-2 aggregate win and a place in the third qualifying round. Waris who joined Hacken in 2009 won the man-of-the-match award. He was widely tipped to succeed after scoring an incredible eight goals in pre-season that year but had to remain on the sidelines after sustaining a nagging injury.
