ABL Celebrates 80 Years With Staff

To mark the start of activities to celebrate 80 years of successful business in Ghana,Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), a subsidiary of SABMiller plc, held a party for its employees and a number of distributors. In his address, Greg Metcalf, Managing Director of ABL said, �Today, we are celebrating 80 years in Ghana, which is a momentous occasion for us, our staff and key distributors. It is also the beginning of a series of exciting activities that we will share with all of our consumers over the rest of the year.� He encouraged the staff and distributors to continue to do their best to ensure that Ghana�s premier brewery and manufacturer of the fastest growing brand, Club Premier Lager, maintains its enviable position in the country. Philip Norley, Commercial Director of ABL affirmed, �Our Club brand has been proudly Ghanaian for 80 years and we want our loyal consumers to celebrate this milestone with us. I am using this opportunity to remind the public that Club is the only true Ghanaian born beer and the oldest brand not just in Ghana but in West Africa. We are excited to share this occasion with our staff that have made it all happen.� Distributors and employees participated in quizzes based on questions on the alcoholic and non alcoholic beverage industry. Winners walked away with attractive prizesincluding mobile phones, digital cameras and DVDs. The ultimate prize was a flat screen television and theatre set won by Susan Eyram Adjei of the sales department. ABL and its sister company Voltic have over the years contributed significantly to Ghana�s economic development through the creation of at least 17,600 jobs across the country.
