Namibia To Camp In Ghana For Four Weeks

The Namibia Football Association will send a development side to Ghana for a four-week training camp this month as they rebuild the Brave Warriors, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm. The camp will run from 16 July to 8 August and will be funded by the NFA and will include friendly matches in Ghana and neighbouring Benin and Togo. The 22-man squad selected for the trip to Ghana includes players which beat Malawi 1-0 last week. The public relations officer for the NFA, Dan Kamati explained that they would play friendlies to expose the players to the physical West African players. �It is an effort to expose our players to the more physical players from West Africa who are ranked amongst the best on the continent,� Kamati told Namibia Sport. �The training camp is also aimed at keeping the players together for some time so that they can get used to certain tactics that can help them adapt and achieve with the national teams,� Kamati added. The team will be coached by Ricardo Mannetti and Bernard Kaanjuka who led Namibia�s Under-20 to suffer a 4-0 defeat to Ghana in Accra last year during the 2011 African Youth Championship qualifiers. The Brave Warriors have made two appearances at the Africa Cup of Nations finals- 1998 and 2008- and failed to go beyond the Group stages.
