While the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a party is full of smiles, claiming that last Saturday�s congress was victory for the party, The Enquirer Intelligence has picked up signals that the Friends of Nana Koandu Agyeman Rawlings (FONKAR) are planning series of activities as face-saving tactics for Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings. Apart from that, FONKAR, whose membership prevailed on the former first lady, Nana Konadu, to contest against President J.E.A Mills, is also planning to come out with a group to disrupt unity moves within the NDC. The Enquirer Intelligence has it that FONKAR is expected to hold a press conference tomorrow with the agenda that, although Nana Konadu massively lost last Saturday�s election, she still has the support of the masses within the party. To give credence to that move, The Enquirer gathered that FONKAR, as part of the grand scheme, will come out with a group called �Foot soldiers for Justice,� next week. The aim of the group is to drum home that fact that the verdict of the delegates at Sunyani does not represent the will of the foot soldiers. Mr. Kofi Adams, spokesperson for the former first family, yesterday made mention of tomorrow�s conference on some radio stations. The Enquirer is reliably informed that the �Foot Soldiers for Justice� is likely to hold a demonstration sometime next week to register their displeasure against the delegates. A highly placed source within the FONKAR, who is a privy to the new strategy, yesterday told The Enquirer that the move was a decoy by some members of the FONKAR to conceal the lies they churned out to Nana Konadu. The Enquirer is reliably informed that FONKAR would be using all forms of arsenals to discredit the overwhelming victory for President Mills. Meanwhile, credible information emanating from the residence of former President Rawlings has revealed that there are numerous calls on the NDC founder to welcome unity within the party. The Enquirer is also reliably informed that there are also calls on the former President, consoling him on the heavy defeat his wife suffered at Sunyani last Saturday. At last Saturday�s congress, Prof. Mills polled 2,771 votes representing 96.9 percent, while Nana Konadu polled 90 votes, representing 3.1 percent. The congress brought together old folks of the NDC, who, for a long time, had distanced themselves from the party. President Mills, in his victory speech, said that the victory was not for him but for the NDC. He centered the speech on the need for unity, peace and tranquility to prevail within the NDC.
