For moviegoers with feel-good taste, 2011 must be going down smoothly, especially if you were at the recent premiere of Adams Apple 2. The fruitful basket of team Sparrow, headed by director-extraodinaire Shirley Frimpong-Manso, has impressed movie goers as much as Sparrow has been impressed by them. �I�m so impressed with the heavy patronage of the premieres of this novelty project both in Ghana and in the U.K, even at the second installment stage; and there�re eight more Chapters to come�, says Shirley Frimpong-Manso, undoubtedly one of five best film makers in Ghana today. Further underscoring Sparrow Production�s industry dominance, the UK Premiere of Adams Apple Chapters 1 and 2, came off successfully on Friday 17th June 2011- even on a bad weather day- at the Odeon Cinema, Greenwich Busby, London. A visibly pleased crowd at the London Premiere heaped massive praises on Shirley for continuously bringing out pictures their money�s worth. �This suspense-filled flick is good enough reason for me to travel back to Ghana to watch future Chapters if we do not get the chance to see it here again�, says Gina Kodua, a Ghanaian based in London. And with the Nigeria screening coming off this week, the team is in a hurry to unleash the follow-up installment. �The third installment- Chapter 3- will open screening at the Silverbird Cinemas on Thursday, June 30, 2011�, Shirley confirmed in London. A quick rewind: In the first basket (Chapter One), we were introduced to the ADAMS APPLE family, Mrs. Adams and her three daughters- Kukua, Jennifer and Baaba. Chapter Two, took a nose dive deeper into the family unit and explored the private lives and internal conflicts of the ADAMS. At the end, it doesn�t really seem clear what Mrs. Adams has got going with unassuming Albert. So as Kukua battles with her feelings for Denu, which almost compromises her performance at work; Baaba on the other hand fails on the only chance to prove she is a better choice to gain custody of her daughter over her ex-hubby, Chris; while Jennifer is entangled in a web of erotic ecstasy with Gerald, Baaba�s secretary�s boyfriend when he poses as the son of a rich man. Asked what inspired the idea to make a 10-Chapter movie in Ghana, Director Shirley Frimpong Manso says, �I didn�t only see an opportunity in the vacant series market, but also the need to make a film with similar emotional attachments viewers have for television soap operas. Meanwhile, we also needed to bring out a storyline that satisfies the curiosity of the entire family; all this brought into play in cinema�. Now fast-forward to the goodies in the yet-to-be-premiered third basket, Chapter Three- schedule for June 30. The girls find Mrs. Adams and the unassuming Albert having dinner at a hotel. Kukua is worried about Denu�s closeness with Aseye, a model they used for a photo shoot. Baaba still battles legal custody of her daughter over Chris, her divorced husband; and worried Jennifer discovers she has been sleeping with her ex-secretary�s boyfriend. So by now, if you are out of the loop on Adam�s Apple, you still have the chance to join in the train by grabbing DVD copies of the first two chapters in DVD shops, Supermarkets and Gas stations (Marts) everywhere, from July 4, while you wait for the Chapter Three.
