C/R NDC Youth Hail President Mills Victory

The Central Regional Youth Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has congratulated President John Atta Mills on his landslide victory in the Presidential primaries, held last week, in Sunyani. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Ato Amoah, Regional NDC Youth Organizer said the victory was a sign of recognition of the good work the President had been doing to raise the standard of living of Ghanaians. He said the Sunyani congress had shown that the Ghanaian electorate had become matured in selecting their leaders. Mr Amoah said the congress also shows how discerning the electorate had become and how nothing could sway them from the truth. He urged the party not to become complacent but to work harder for the great task ahead in 2012. Mr Amoah called on the leadership of the party to do all that it takes to unite members of FONKAR and those of GAME so that they could campaign together to ensure that the party retained power in 2012.The success of the Sunyani congress would be meaningless if it did not lead the party to retain power in 2012 elections, the Youth Organizer stated. Mr Amoah appealed to the Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings group to put the primaries behind them and help to achieve the ultimate goal in 2012. He also appealed to the founder, Flt Lt J J Rawlings to rescind his decision not to campaign for President Atta Mills in the 2012 election. He said since NDC members would not feel happy and secured under an NPP administration, all members of the party should unite for the 2012 election. He urged the youth in both camps to quickly bury their differences and start campaigning and strategizing as early as possible.
