Gen. Mosquito: NPP Should Stand Firm

After the National Democratic Congresss (NDC) peaceful election of a flagbearer for the party for 2012 national elections at Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region over the weekend, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary of the party, says that the largest opposition party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), should stand firm for a showdown. According to him, the NPP, before the last Saturdays historic congress, was thriving on perceived disunity within the NDC and that was simply discarded at the congress. Speaking in an interview with The Enquirer via phone, Mr. Nketiah said that the NDC has displayed to the NPP that the party was very solid. As for the NDC we say never say die but not all die be die so the unity within the party is not dead as the NPP wanted Ghanaians to believe, he said. He said that the massive votes for President J.E.A Mills were a testimony that there was one voice within the NDC.
