VIDEO: Real Madrid 4 - 1 LA Galaxy

DAVID BECKHAM was upstaged by Cristiano Ronaldo as LA Galaxy were outclassed by Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid. Becks, 36, skippered Galaxy at the Los Angeles Coliseum in his first appearance against Madrid since leaving the Bernabeu for the States in 2007. But the England midfielder could only watch and admire as the La Liga giants picked up an impressive victory in front of 56,211 fans. After a goalless opening half-hour, Madrid powered into the lead. Fabio Coentrao linked up with Kaka and the Brazilian played in Jose Callejon to break the deadlock. Just minutes later, Joselu controlled the ball in the box and fired in a shot through Beckham's legs. Galaxy keeper Josh Saunders was left wrongfooted as he appeared to be expecting a cross and was stranded as the ball rolled into the net. Callejon and Joselu had set the scene perfectly for Mourinho to introduce Ronaldo at the break. And the Portuguese star needed just seven minutes to lash home a left-foot drive after beating two Galaxy defenders. Karim Benzema headed home the fourth in the 57th minute but Madrid took their foot off the gas and allowed Adam Cristman to net a consolation 10 minutes later. Beckham, who was substituted after 61 minutes, had a beaming smile on his face at full-time but was in no doubt who the star of the show had been. He said: "You know, Ronaldo's just exceptional. "He's not just a player with a lot of ability, he works hard too. He does everything for the team."
