Spare Us The Rhetoric, NPPYour History Is Incomplete Without Bombings

A member of the communication team of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and an Oil Analyst, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has told the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), to stop living in dreamland and disabuse their minds from the notion that the NPP has a bold and reputable history. Felix believes there are no honorary members in the NPP as the party might want the world to believe, adding that the history of the UP/NPP cannot be written without mention being made of its bomb-throwing activists. To him, the UP/NPP is known to be a violent party since its inception in the pre and post-independence days with bombs being hurled at their political opponents, especially the founder of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Stop lying to yourselves that you have a bold historyMassa, you only have a history which describes you as bomb throwers, he said. The outspoken NDC youth activist maintained that historians who are well versed in the countrys political history have amply documented the violent and bloody activities carried out by the UP/NPP in the days leading up to the countrys independence and thereafter. According to him, the desperation of the forebearers of the NPP was so evident and knew no bounds that they began plotting how to destabilize the nation through bombings just a year after attainment of independence. Do you recall that T- Junction affair? The late Mr. Amposah was caught pants down, plotting a bomb throw with some other persons. When an Inquiry into the matter was conducted, it came to pass that they had bought original Ghanaian soldier uniforms from a certain UK store to be given to some rebels in Togo in order to aid them execute a successful coup dtat, Felix Ofosu claimed. Speaking on Asempa FM, an Accra-based commercial radio station, the Oil Analyst pontificated that the arrest and subsequent imprisonment of Dr. J.B. Danquah (under the Preventive Detention Act), who the NPP believe to be the doyen of Ghana politics, was nothing significant and asked the opposition to spare Ghanaians the rhetoric, pointing out that the NPP was not the only political party to have had its members imprisoned for what they believed in. Issa Mobila was arrested and tortured in prison because he campaigned for the NDCHon E.T. Mensah was detainedThere is a woman residing at Dansoman currently and if you go and inquire from her, she will tell you about the bad encounters she had with the NPP (UP) when she was a child. As a result of the bomb the NPP threw at the Accra Sports Stadium, her leg had to be amputated, Felix Ofosu said.
