The Police in the Volta Region have arrested some irate protestors demonstrating against the continued stay in office of Volta Regional Minister Joseph Amenowode. The group is calling for the immediate resignation of the Regional Minister, accusing him of incompetence. According to reports, four protestors made up of three males and a female were arrested. The protestors clad in red cloth carried placards with inscriptions such as Minister humbly resign and go the greedy bastards must go now among others. GNA reports that the demonstration went on smoothly through the principal streets but somewhere around the Pensioners Hall at about 1030 hours the Police, in four vehicles descended on them and picked up a number of the demonstrators. They seized their placards, drums and heckled others. Those arrested have been taken to the Regional Police headquarters.
