The leadership of Friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings (FONKAR) have stated that the NDC has no right to ban the group. According to the group, FONKAR is not an organ of the NDC, neither is it the campaign team of the former first lady. The General Secretary of the ruling NDC, Johnson Asiedu-Nketia announced on Thursday August 11, that there is a ban on all splinter groups within the party as it prepares towards its Parliamentary primaries. But Communications Director of FONKAR, Dela Coffie told Citi News the group does not recognize the ban. He said �we do not consider any ban, we do not fall within the groups that were banned. "The Get Atta Mills Endorsed (GAME) is a campaign team to re-nominate Atta Mills for the flagbearership, they achieved their aim. "Nana Konadu Campaign team also had an aim that was to make sure Nana Konadu wins the nomination, it did not happen. The campaign team of Nana Konadu is banned. "FONKAR is not, I repeat, is not the campaign team for Nana Konadu for 2012, FONKAR was one of the several groups rooting for Nana Konadu�s candidature, we have never pretended to be the campaign team. "Our agenda is different from the campaign team even though we believe that Nana Konadu could make a good candidate but our agenda is to protect the legacy of Mr. Rawlings�.
