Nduom Exploratory Committee Is A Sham - Prof. Akosa

One time Presidential aspirant for the Convention Peoples Party and former Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Professor Agyeman Badu Akosa has taken a swipe at the Nduom Exploratory Committee and discredited results produced by the Committee which seeks to portray Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom as the CPPs best presidential material for the 2012 elections. Professor Badu Akosa described the entire process adopted by the group in arriving at its conclusion as arrogance of self conceitedness adding that the process could have been undertaken without the publicity attached to it. According to him, the data collection process of the Nduom Exploratory Committee and the presentation of the results could have been done without publicity. He indicated that the research could not be trusted since the result was known even before the team was formed. The Nduom Exploratory Committee is a youth group set up with the consent of Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, the Convention Peoples Party presidential candidate for the 2008 elections, to explore his viability and visibility as a presidential candidate for the 2012 elections. Members of the Youth for Nduom 2012 Exploratory Committee are all under the age of 35. Speaking on the Citi Eyewitness News, on Friday August 12, on a myriad of issues concerning the CPP and the health delivery system in Ghana and how best the CPP would deal with some of the issues if they were in power, Professor Akosa urged the public not to believe in the research conducted by the Committee. This is the umpteenth time the Professor has criticised the 2008 flagbearer of the CPP. He earlier accused Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom of using his financial stature to buy his way to the flagbearer position of the party. Professor Agyemang Badu Akosa, has however endorsed the candidature of the partys only parliamentarian, Samia Nkrumah, who is gunning for the chairmanship of the party. He said he supports Samia Nkrumah because he wants a radical progressive change in the Convention Peoples Party. We are changing the leadership of the party since 2007 because really, they have done abysmally poor. On his political ambitions however, Professor Akosa remained coy on whether or not he would be standing for a position in the party. The CPP has had several challenges in organising a national congress after several postponements of the congress date. The Western region delegates congress has also been postponed following major disagreements.
