President Mills: I'll Win Next Year's Election

President Mills has promised to preside over a free and fair election next year. He further promises to ensure that the country is as peaceful as when he took over the reins of government on January 7, 2009. President Mills gave the assurance on August 18, 2011 when he addressed the synod of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana in the Volta regional capital, Ho. The leadership of the Church had earlier called on the President at the Castle on Friday August 5, to invite the President to their Synod meeting and to also thank him for Governments contribution towards the construction of the churchs University. President Mills was confident of winning next years election, and expressed the belief that with the cooperation of all Ghanaians, the elections would come off peacefully. Next year, we are going to have our elections, and I would want to promise you that as a government, well ensure that we have free and transparent elections. After all, when I was sworn into office on the 7th of January 2009 I was given a peaceful and stable country, and I want to assure the people of Ghana that come January 7, 2017 I will hand over a peaceful nation. However, my brothers and sisters, the responsibility should be a joint one.
