Benyiwa-Doe: Im Yet To See Any NDC MP Who Has Broken The Law

Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ama Benyiwa-Doe has dismissed assertions by members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) that President John Evans Atta Mills does not walk the talk. National Womens Organiser of the NPP, Otiko Afisa-Djaba is reported to have asked President Mills to be consistent with his words and actions relative to the issue of "politics of insults". According to her, the Presidents stance is largely hypocritical on the matter considering the fact that most of his appointees have continually rained insults on the Minority and have been left off without even a reprimand or any form of sanctions. But in an interview with Shamima Muslim on Citi FMs Eye Witness News, a surprised Ama Benyiwa-Doe countered by saying: I am yet to see any MP who has broken the law in this countryI dont know what she (Otiko) is talking about. To her, President Mills is always in the clear, having been at the receiving end of some highly condemnable verbal abuse, but has incredibly refrain from hitting back at his detractors. She accused the erstwhile NPP regime under Mr. Kufuor of failing to sanction even a single member who flouted the law. However, in a sharp riposte the NPPs National Womens Organiser maintained that by rewarding sharp-tongued NDC members with official appointments, President Mills was indirectly condoning the politics of insults.
