Asamoah Gyan Rules Himself Out Of Brazil Friendly

Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan insists he will not play in Mondays international friendly against Brazil because of injury, the Sunderland striker has told MTNFootball.com. This comes after the Ghana team doctor hinted that he could be available for selection after scans revealed no major damage to his thigh injury. The Sunderland striker opened the scoring for Ghana in the 2-0 win against Swaziland last Friday but was stretchered off in the 38th minute. The Black Stars lead striker is said to have suffered contusion on his thigh. The scans revealed that there was no muscle tear in his thigh but he felt contusion in the area. He would be able to return to action soon, Black Stars team doctor Maj. (Dr) Percy Annan told the Ghana FA official website. Gyan is part of the squad named for Mondays international friendly to be played at Fulhams Cravern Cottage in London.
