Ministerial Action Without Integrity Against A Professor Of A Lot Of Integrity

The week, just gone past, saw another congress melodrama. It was a minister acting without integrity against the professor of integrity. Yes, my compatriots, it was one more presidential mess-up of taking a messy action or tactlessly conveying a messy message; actually, both. In the end, the chief minister had to abandon his office to go and placate the peeved colleagues and apprentices who see the professor surgeon as a father figure and role model. One result has been that, once more, the calibre of ministers and appointees is being questioned by a political scientist from Kwame Nkrumahs own university of political science and other things. It must be the umpteenth time questions have been raised about the suitability, capacity and competence of the men and the women chosen without our vote to lead the development effort of the motherland. Just imagine, we entrusted the one we voted 40000 more for than the other person with this responsibility! As a reminder, at the outset, someone said they were team B. Then my traditional compatriot called them standard seven boys (and I must add girls). To the who born dog man, they are greedy bastards who are traitors. And you heard she who with him born them characterize them as together the most corrupt government the motherland has ever had. How a minister managed to display such little informed aptitude in a situation of a mixed bureaucratic and academic structure is unbelievable. I wonder where all his advisers were. Implementing a dictatorial edict of a letter without consultation with the heart consultants smacked of a coup mentality. A little check by competent bureaucrats would have revealed that the head of the teaching hospital in Kumasi who was appointed by the same ministers government is aged more than the 62 of the eminent heart surgeon. A nation doesnt easily come by top class heart surgeons. The Frimpong-Boateng type is even an extreme rarity. Such sons and daughters of a motherland are a million times less dispensable than a minister who can be dispensed with anytime, anyhow by being shuffled or re-shuffled out of a ministerial position. Right from the transition, you could see many congress ministers did not know a thing and yet they would not be taught a thing. All because they thought they could play with the thing and make it seem like they knew that thing they did not know. Sometime ago somewhere in this column, I bemoaned the fact that the motherland might not have a Frimpong-Boateng president; because I heard some patriots ask him to mind his Cardio Centre business and stop seeking the presidency. It saddened me. But thats the illogical nature of politics. The best cannot win because winning is not about getting the best. I am personally highly impressed by the mans versatility, including being one of the very few successful ostrich farmers around. I think he has amply demonstrated capacity to innovate and more importantly, the ability to act on thinking that is multifaceted. Congress determination to continue humiliating this humble son of the motherland is only a reflection of their hatred for doers whom they labour to undo. Do-little presidents spend all their lives cooking stories that will win them power without any plans to solve the problems of the motherland and her children. Can-do will-do presidents spend their time thinking and planning deeds that would move the motherland and her children on to live enhancing actions. Maybe, in 2016, there will be an opportunity created by a groundswell recognition of the nation-building attributes of this son of the motherland so that at 67 or so in 2017, he will begin a one-time four-year term to turn the motherland around for the best. This would have been after the 2013-2016 term of the patriots. Frimpong-Boateng for president will be the clarion call. And I will expect the independent-minded who believe we could do better than we would have done to that point, the real patriots who want dramatic progress, the very few congresspeople who want real drastic change for the best will all meld to deliver the Frimpong-Boateng gift of a president. To them we will add all Tuesday borns even though they are not among the most accomplished in my extended family. It is not impossible. We only need to consult the Tunisian and Egyptian mobilisers. Of course, we dont need the violent anti-brother Gaddafi Libyan type. There will be no acronyms; just simply F-B is the answer; to the problems of the motherland and you. Waste him not as the never was action president.
