Man Names Son After Ex-President Kufuor

The Chief Executive of Ntoboase Herbal Centre in Obuasi, Dr. John Kofi Darkwah, has named his five-month-old son after former President John Agyekum Kufour in honour of his exemplary leadership. According to Dr. Darkwah, a renowned herbalist in the Ashanti Region, his motivation for naming his bouncing baby boy after the former president was based on the excellent and inspirational leadership traits exhibited by Mr. Kufour during his tenure as president of the country. It is an honour to name your child after an industrious person like the former president because of his qualities and what Ghana achieved under his tenure of office as the president of this nation, he told Daily Guide in an interview. The baby boy, Prince Agyekum Kufour, was born on May 26, 2011 at Akaporiso Obuasi in the Ashanti Region. Dr. Darkwah is said to be one of the eight traditional herbalists that former President Kufour sent to the Republic of China on May 29, 2007 to study the mechanism in packaging herbal products. Under the circumstance, he said, there was nothing he could do to repay what the former president did for him and the seven herbalists than to name his child after him.It was a promise I made to myself and I have to honour it, he confessed.
