Grandma Sells Wee To Students

A Koforidua Circuit Court B has remanded a 75 years old business woman into prison custody for selling leaves suspected to be marijuana (wee) to students in and around Old Tafo in the East Akyem Municipality of the Eastern Region. Madam Adziza Mozi would re-appear before the court on September 28th, this year. Presenting the facts of the case before the court, presided over by Her Honour Wilhelmina Hammond, the prosecutor, Chief Inspector Patrick Sackitey, said Madam Adzizah Mozi was arrested by the police upon tip-off by some good samaritans in the area about her activities. The accused has been trading in the illicit business for the past 20 years, and was arrested following painstaking investigations, after substantive pieces of information were provided to the police by some residents of the area. According to the prosecutor, police investigations revealed that students in and around Old-Tafo go to the house of the 75- year-old woman during their break sessions, only to come back to the class sleepy, and in some instances, disturb lessons. This development raised serious concerns among both teachers and residents, leading to investigations into the cause of their conditions before and after break. During the course of police investigations and a search of her residence, a bag full of wee was found, and she was subsequently arrested.
