The prestigious Screen Nation Awards slated for 16th October, 2011 at the O2 Indigo, London will honour some of the best African Entertainers for their excellent contribution to the African Movie Industry… Ghanaian star Actress Jackie Appiah and Ama Konadu Abebrese have been nominated alongiside Nollywood heavy weights like Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Mercy Johnson and Funke Akindele to compete for this year’s ‘Favourite West African Actress’ Award. This looks really tough! John Dumelo and Majid Michel from Ghana have also been nominated to face Osita Iheme, Ramsey Nouah, Mike Ezuruonye and Hakeem Kae Kazim for the ‘Favourite West African Actor’ Award. I will be extremely shocked if Majid Michel does not carry this one… The all time Ghanaians favourite and multiple award winning ‘Perfect Picture‘ by ace Director-Shirley Frimpong Manso will compete with ‘Sinking Sands’, Ije’, ‘The Mirror Boy’, ‘Inale’ and ‘The Figurine’ for the ‘Favourite West African Film’ Award. The UK’s Screen Nation Awards have in the past nominated and honoured individuals like Horace Ove, Will Smith, Eamonn Walker, Spike Lee, Danny Glover, Floella Benjamin, Angela Bassett, Nia Long, Rudolph Walker, Queen Latifah, Naomie Harris, Martina Laird, John Barnes, Don Gilet, Mark Norfolk, Wil Johnson, Kwame Kwei Armah, Pam Grier, Adam Deacon, John Akomfrah and others. Hollywood entertainers like Denzel Washington, Anthony Mackie, Hill Harper, Michael K.
